Clay worked a normal day on Departure Day. Our flight didn't leave until 4pm. He came home and then we left to pick up his last minute, new prescriptions at Kmart and then drove back to his office. We have to thank his coworker Srilatha for driving us over to airport and dropping us off in front of Delta's departures door.
Security lines seemed excessively long at 2pm and they were scanning each person before the machine broke down for good 3 people before us and the 4 of us standing on this side of it got shunted by and through the metal detector. That was really the only flying problem. All Delta flights were full but we got ourselves and our baggage just fine. Even with everything going without a hitch. NIGHTMARE! I guess it has been since 1999-2000 since I last flew coach overseas!! I can't take it anymore!! We both really dread the flight home! Anyway, after security, we walked the new terminal building to see the art and then had lunch. We ate at Five Guys and each had a little hamburger with water and shared a giant order of fries. What is up with the size of those small fries? Sadly, though understandably, they did not have the peanuts there but it turns out Delta was serving peanuts at the drop of a hat so it all turned out fine. Our gate wound up being directly across from 42nd Street Oyster bar. It has been years since we've eaten there too, but we never were fans...
Sorry, no photos today.
